Farmer Casey’s Ranch & Program

Farmer Casey’s Ranch, a Purple Cat site in Coitsville, Ohio, offers adults with disabilities the opportunity to learn about agriculture and work alongside a diverse collection of animals as part of their vocational programming. Our Farm is home to numerous farm animals including two pigs, Oliver and Leroy, and father and son donkey duo, Blaze and Ray. The farm also has a variety of chickens, geese, quail, ducks, turkeys, and peacocks. The goats, including horned goats and pigmies, and our new baby goats, Laverne, Gus, and Shirley, are a fan favorite around the farm. Everyone also loves the alpacas, Justice and Dallas. In addition to our farm animals, Farmer Casey’s Ranch is home to Phil and three cats, Buddy, Oscar, and Daisy.

Clients learn about and work in gardening and animal care.

While in programming at the farm, clients learn about and work in gardening and animal care. They are responsible for ordering feed for the various animals, daily feeding and watering, and cleaning. Clients clean the pens, docks, and feeding areas to ensure our animals live happy and healthy lives on the farm. In the summer, they are also given the opportunity to work in the greenhouse growing flowers and fresh produce that can be purchased by members of the community.
